About Me

I'm a wedding, family, and event photographer based in Houston, Texas.  I've been playing with cameras and editing photos for about 15 years.  The last 5 of those years I turned it into my main focus and business.  I've done probably 300 photoshoots of various types: couples, family, maternity etc.  And I've done approximately 50 pure modeling photoshoots.

Photography to me is stunning.  I get to visit beautiful places, meet beautiful people, and take beautiful photos.  It's my dream and passion.  I'm fairly flexible in how I shoot - I enjoy adapting to different places and people.  Sometimes I like a folksy style while other times I like a high-end modeling style.  Sometimes I'll shoot things very traditional and sophisticated while other times I'll make things very gritty and raw.  I can meet with you and see what vision you have for your pictures.  And maybe we can make something beautiful together ;)

I went to college at Colorado State University where I double majored in Applied Mathematics and Finance (I know, I should be working in a bank somewhere).  But it was very hard to resonate with the office life.  I worked for a few companies until I saw a chance to make photography my full-time business.  It was an opportunity I couldn't pass up and I haven't regretted it since ;)

I mostly grew up in Hawaii.  My Dad was in the Navy and was stationed at Pearl Harbor when I was young.  We moved around a little bit, including Washington State and Iceland (randomly), but we mostly stayed in Hawaii.  Hawaii isn't quite what you think, it's actually quite crowded and expensive.  But it does have truly beautiful landscapes.  I spent a lot of time exploring the island and taking pictures of hidden waterfalls and breathtaking sunsets.  I got to discover many rainforests and hidden beaches.  And perhaps because of that, I have a strong appreciation for art and beauty.

I started off photography doing landscapes.  I would travel to many far-off places and try to capture the beauty of the natural world.  I would join little farmer's markets and try to sell some of my art.  Then a tourist came up to me and insisted I take her on a hike so I could take her picture in front of a waterfall.  I was a little flabbergasted - I take photos of landscapes not people!  But since she was so insistent I decided to give it a try.  I fell in love with it.  It's amazing how even if you have a somewhat normal backdrop, adding a person to it can suddenly make it so interesting.  There's something fascinating about the human soul that can add so much to a picture.  I then began to focus on personal photography: families, couples, models etc.  And it was so interesting and beautiful to try and capture them with photos.  And that is what I'm still doing up until today.  I greatly enjoy my work and hope to continue and make beautiful art into the future...
